A Man of All Hats

I want to wish a belated "Happy Father's Day" to my incredibly wonderful husband whom I love beyond belief. Instead of a father-son golf outing, family celebration at the beach, or quiet night out, my dear hubby got to spend his entire Father's Day weekend playing nurse maid to me.

From last Wednesday until Sunday I was spiking fevers up to 105.3 degrees (yes, you read right, 105.3) and dealing with extreme chills and shaking (as well as a host of other symptoms). After being misdiagnosed on Thursday, I saw a different MD on Saturday who finally determined the source of the infection and prescribed an appropriate antibiotic. It wasn't until yesterday that I finally had the strength to walk around the house and do some very light, mennial chores.

Dear Hubby took it all in stride and held the fort down. Playing the roles of nurse maid, cook, cleaning service (to a degree "wink"), playmate (to our 4 wee ones), disciplinarian, chief cuddler, and the list goes on and on. I know it's always a challenge when Daddy's have to take the reigns by themselves, even for a little while, so hats off to you Sweet Corey for a job beyond well done!

Back To Work

Now that little Ellia is 9 weeks old (boy how time flies!), she is finally falling into her own schedule for napping...whoo hoo! Though not always set in stone, I finally have some predictable time each day to experiment with new items for Bullfrogs & Butterflies :) Now if I could just figure out what is up with my crazy computer and it's unpredictable mish-mosh of colors when printing, I could finally move forward with some of my additions (sigh!). Boy, I hope having to buy a new printer is not in my foreseeable future!

It's Hard to Say Good-Bye

Today the kids and I drove Mom to the airport for her return trip home to Dallas...what a bummer! She originally came up mid-late March to stay with us and lend a hand after the birth of our little princess. Her trip was then unexpectedly extended with the passing of my Papa (her Dad) in mid-April. She stayed on afterward to help my Gama with all of the major transitions that took place and provide comfort and support.

Although the reason for her extension was a sad and devastating one, it's been so nice to have her close by. I know I'll see her again later this year, but it's so much nicer being 1 city away vs. multiple states!

Thank you for all of your help and support, Mom...you are a fabulous caretaker and a wonderful Mama! I miss you already :(
