Mommy's Little Man

Where has the time gone? Granted, there will be many more major milestones in the lives of all of my children, but last night was a big first for my oldest...we bought his 1st Big Boy Bike for his upcoming 5th birthday.
It's the cutest (excuse me, coolest) version of an adult mountain bike! It has hand brakes as well as pedal brakes, a sport seat, and super cool paint job. Pair that with his new Spiderman helmet (not gaudy, just a deep vibrant blue with small red spiders sporadically placed), elbow pads, and knee pads and he is ready to roll. We decided to forego the frustrations of putting it together ourselves and let the bike shop do it. We get to pick it up tonight...I think I just might tear!!

  8. My son got his firs bike when he was 3 1/2 from my mom. The funny thing is that when he opened it, it was a football team on it, the Philadelphia Eagles. My husband, is a NY Jets Fan. My mom knows nothing about sports. She just saw "the cute bird" on the front so she thought my son would like it. Anyway, he is 5 1/2 now and too big for it. We were going to get him a new one for Christmas, but got him and his brother a rid on Hummer instead. His birthday is in June, so we figured that will be his birthday present from mommy and daddy this year.
Now just to figure out what size to get.... Oh and JD has the whole spiderman set too.

    Blessings,
    Jacqueline

  9. We just bought my 3 year old daughter the coolest bike this past October. Coming from the states I've never seen this before (although you can now buy it there). I was so impressed with it, I wrote a post about it here http://www.baroquebabies.com/2009/02/like-bike.html
    Check it out if interested!!

  10. Thanks, Kim...that is a very cool idea for acclimating your little one to a 2-wheeler! Maybe I'll give it a try with one of my younger munchkins that isn't ready for a regular bike yet :)
