Whew!

What a day! Yesterday was the big 3 Year Old Birthday Extravaganza and it was fabulous! Caleb and the kids had a blast playing, dancing, eating...you name it, they did it! The adults had a wonderful opportunity to sit and catch up and we were treated to some surprise family guests from out of town. By the end of it, the entire household was wiped out and went straight to bed after a little clean up and wind down time. All in all, it was a spectacular day!

Don't Sweat the Small Stuff...

...there are more productive things to do with your time and more positive ways to spend your energy! Besides, karma comes full circle and we will all reap what we sow...so why not sew into our talents (hint, hint...new goodies are on their way at Bullfrogs & Butterflies!)?

Frustrated...

I debated long and hard about this post prior to writing it, but I hope you will indulge me briefly. I prefer to keep my blog upbeat and informative, as it's the best reflection of my own personality...but tonight I am extremely frustrated. There are MANY online baby boutiques out there that deal in similar, whimsical products to my own. The thing that makes the best of us stand out is our ability to put our own spin on the designs. There's bound to be some overlap and similarities, but the truly creative typically stand out with a superior product. It's this drive to create that I find most enjoyable about what I do.

The thing that I find most frustrating, however, is when some, in their piety, accuse others (whether directly or by inference) of copying ideas only to turn around and do the very thing they claim to detest. I have always been taught not to "cast stones" unless I myself am blameless. Perhaps others would do well to learn this same lesson.

Happy Birthday "Sweet Face"!

I can't believe that my little Caleb is turning 3 today! It seems like just yesterday that my hubby was assisting with the delivery...boy, how time flies!! Although the big party isn't until Saturday, we had a small family celebration today...balloons, special "mommy time", backwards dinner (per request), special "daddy time" at Coldstone Creamery (yummmm), and a football-shaped birthday cake (bake by moi) complete with our slightly out of tune rendition of "Happy Birthday" (wink). The favorite gift of the evening was a Dallas Cowboys football uniform, complete with shoulder pads and helmet, from my parents...too cute!

Happy Belated Sweetest Day!

Happy Belated Sweetest Day to All! I hope you all had a wonderful day yesterday. I was blessed to have a very full Sweetest Day. It went something like this...

First, the we celebrated by having a Breakfast of Favorites...each family member helped make a favorite breakfast food for someone else. My 4 year old had pancakes and eggs with cheese, my soon-to-be 3 year old had strawberry streudel, the baby had blueberry waffles (no syrup) and pears, hubby had an egg and bacon sandwich, and mommy was treated to yummy cinnamon rolls! Delicious!!

Then, it was time to clean up and head out for an outdoor family outing...always a big hit! After a bite of lunch, it was time to shut the house down for a much needed rest. Mommy and Daddy even got to take a nap together (a much coveted treat in our house!).

After naptime, I had a chance to visit my new friend Tammy at the grand opening of her product launch in a local retail store. Tammy is the very talented artisan behind the new goodies featured in the Bullfrogs & Butterflies Spa Sweet Shoppe. And let me tell you, she is as sweet in person as her yummy little bath treats! Once back at home I found a warm bath waiting for me (compliments of my dear hubby!)...the perfect opportunity to try out one of Tammy's delicious tub taffies in a festive fall scent.

It was a YUMMY ending to a perfect Sweetest Day!

A Moment to Relax...

For the first time in a long time I had the opportunity to enjoy a luxurious bath without any interruptions from my 3 adorable munchkins...it was delightful! It's easy to get caught up in the many tasks of each day and forget to take time to breathe. It was wonderful to steal away for a few minutes of "me time" and treat my senses to an aromatic soak!!
